ADVISER POSITION ON NGO COOPERATION AND BELARUS

We are looking to recruit an experienced, communicative and dynamic adviser to strengthen the team in the field of NGO cooperation and cooperation with Belarus. This is a position for a proactive and independent person who has the will, interest and ability to contribute to further developing Nordic-Baltic cooperation.

The Nordic Council of Ministers office in Vilnius was established in 1991 to represent the Nordic Council of Ministers in Lithuania. The Nordic Council of Ministers and the Nordic Council are the main forums for official Nordic co-operation, which involves Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland. Our vision is to make the Nordic-Baltic region the most sustainable and integrated region in the world. To achieve our vision, we will prioritize: A green region – A competitive region – A socially sustainable Region.

We are looking for you who have the interest in international relations and curiosity for our region. As a person, you are idea- and initiative-rich, responsible and flexible. You should be able to navigate and prioritize in a creative and sometimes intense context. We place great importance on personal characteristics. With a proactive and creative mindset, you find yourself comfortable working independently, while cooperating with existing staff and structures within the office, as a whole.

The adviser will focus on tasks related to:

Developing, implementing and monitoring projects;
Communication with relevant stakeholders and partners in Lithuania and Nordic Countries and within Nordic Council of Ministers;
Networking and reach out activities including representation;
NGO grant scheme;
Activities and projects in Belarus;
Events management.

Education & Work Experience:

University degree in a relevant field of study;
2-3 years of experience within the field of international project management;
Experience and knowledge of political, social and economic developments in the Baltic Sea Region including Belarus;

Technical Competencies & Languages:

Complete professional fluency in Lithuanian, English and Russian;
Knowledge of a Scandinavian language is an asset;
Skills in Microsoft Office programs, website and social network management tools;
Authorized to work in Lithuania.

The position is Fixed term: 2 years with possibility of extension. We apply three months’ probation. We strive for ethnic and cultural diversity as well as an even gender distribution.
