Legal Guide for Journalists to assist media professionals

2019/11/12

Lithuanian Journalism Centre in cooperation with the partners, Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Lithuania, released a brief desk book for every professional working in the media or dealing with it on a daily basis – Legal Guide for Journalists. Please find the electronic versions of it below.

The user-friendly content of the Guide well presents all the relevant legal norms from the Civil Code, the Criminal Code, the Administrative Offense Code, the Law on Public information, and other legal acts. The authors – lawyer, media law expert dr. Liudvika Meškauskautė and journalist, DELFI special correspondent Dainius Sinkevičius – not only summarized the legal regulation of media activities but also complemented this information with real-life examples from case law and editorial experience.

Besides Lithuanian, the Guide is also published in Polish, Russian and English in order to make the country’s media law more accessible for minority journalists as well as foreign journalists working here.
