Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Lithuania is looking to hire an Adviser for Communication to lead communication activities, build strong institutional brand presence and secure visibility for Office’s diverse and impactful projects.

The Nordic Council of Ministers, founded in 1971 and based in Copenhagen, Denmark, is the forum for inter-governmental co-operation of five Nordic countries (Iceland, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden as well as Aland Islands, Faroe Islands and Greenland). In 1991 the Nordic Council of Ministers established offices in Vilnius (Lithuania), Riga (Latvia) and Tallinn (Estonia).

Your main responsibilities:

  • Lead communication planning and implementation for the Office.
  • Events and networking, newsletter, publications and social media with a specific focus on attracting audiences within youth and children.
  • Create stories and pitches to media to convert them into publications.
  • Responsibility for the Office’s webpage norden.lt (content, texts, layout), press monitoring.
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with local and regional media and individual journalists.
  • Storytelling campaigns.
  • Oversight and overall responsibility for the Communication strategy of the Office.
  • Write and issue press releases.
  • Presentation of Office activities.

We expect:

  • University degree in a relevant field of study.
  • Working experience in the field of communication or public relations.
  • Full professional fluency in Lithuanian and English. Proficiency in one of the Scandinavian languages (Danish, Swedish or Norwegian) as well as Russian is an advantage.
  • An understanding of and interest in the current political and social situation in the Nordic region.
  • A high sense of responsibility, time management and a proactive working approach.
  • Understanding of current trends within digital marketing and Tech skills necessary for handling various range of communication channels.
  • Ability to work in a team with high degree of individual responsibility.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
