EXPEDITION ACROSS THE ISLAND OF ICE
Impressions from a 600 kilometers expedition on Greenlandic ice cap

Greenland (In Eskimo–Aleut language: Kalaallit Nunaat meaning "Land of the Greenlanders"), is an autonomous country within the Kingdom of Denmark, located between the Arctic and Atlantic Oceans. Though physiographically a part of the continent of North America, Greenland has been politically and culturally associated with Europe.

About 81% of Greenland's surface is covered by the Greenland ice sheet. The weight of the ice has depressed the central land area into a basin shape, whose base lies more than 300 meters below the surrounding ocean. The biggest island in the world, it‘s thick ice cap, surronding green fiords and mysterious history and culture attract extreme travelers from all over the world. Lithuanians are not an exception.

Series Second Tuesday invites you to come and hear a story about 600 kilometer expedition from the man who did it. It is a journey where a man conquers himself.
